WAIVER
As a Condition of Enrolment & Attendance, Pupils & Parents Agree to the Following Terms & Conditions:
Term fees must be paid in full within 21 days of the term invoice being emailed, unless regular payments or alternative arrangements have been agreed upon with administration.
Fees can be paid via cash or online banking.
Term fees are calculated for the term as a whole, not on a weekly basis or per attendance. All fees are based on an eight-week period.
An additional charge will automatically apply to all single-family member fees not paid within 21 days of the term invoice being issued.
All debt collection costs and charges are the sole responsibility of the customer.
Classes missed due to illness or absence will not be refunded or credited.
Classes cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances or public holidays will not be refunded.
The studio holds no responsibility for injuries, lost, or damaged personal items, including Prox Access Cards lost on-site.
Studio ID/Access Cards can be partially refunded up to six weeks after the discontinuation date. To qualify, they must be returned in good, unmarked, and saleable condition.
Classes must be enrolled in for the entire term (these are not casual classes).
Foundation and Advanced Groups have a bi-annual costume fee, which is payable by the end of each term or as new costumes are required.
Pupils are expected to respect the studio, teachers, and fellow students at all times.
All choreography, in any form, is the property of DANCEFIT STUDIOS and may only be used at our events unless prior permission has been granted.
Studio Policies 2025
Enrolment
Students must be enrolled online before participating in class. This is very important, as teachers need to know the students and class sizes in order to plan lessons and consider any medical needs.
Trying a Class
We do not offer drop-in trial classes, as they can be disruptive to the teacher and enrolled students. Additionally, we believe that a single class is unlikely to determine if the class is a good fit for your child. Instead, if after the first two classes you feel it is not working out, simply let us know. We will refund any tuition paid, though the registration fee will still apply. You are welcome to return later in the year to try again without paying another registration fee.
Tuition
Tuition is based on weekly classes for a minimum 8-week term. Some terms may be longer, but no additional charge will be made. Costume and Performance Group fees, as well as concert tickets, are charged separately. Please refer to the tuition fees schedule for amounts and dates.
Withdrawals & Refunds
To withdraw from classes, a parent must provide adequate notice in writing via email to allow us to offer the space to another student. Term fees are non-refundable, and any credit notes are at the discretion of the studio. A medical certificate must be provided for any refund to be processed.
Studio Calendar
The dance classes follow a four-term year, with each term being a minimum of 8 weeks. Fees do not increase if a term exceeds 8 weeks. Classes are not held on Easter or public holidays. As we are privately owned, we do not follow the Ministry of Education's advised calendar, though we are fairly close.
Observing Classes
Parents of Jammers and Novice are invited to watch the first week or two of classes. We ask that younger siblings are kept from interrupting the class for safety reasons. For all classes, we kindly request that parents only watch using the designated viewing screens. This allows children to relax, feel secure in their learning environment, and concentrate on the teacher and their choreography.
Substitutions & Cancellations
We reserve the right to cancel classes or provide a substitute teacher. Cancelled classes will either be added at the end of the term or year, or credited at the studio's discretion. No refunds will be given for unforeseen closures and/or weather events.
Dance Uniform
Dance shoes or clean sports shoes and activewear must be worn to all classes. For safety reasons, dancers are not permitted to wear heavy jewellery and must have their hair tied back. Streetwear and bare feet are not allowed.
Attendance
Please inform us of absences via email. No classes will be made up or refunded for illness or non-attendance, aside from in exceptional circumstances as agreed with the studio owner.
Parents’ Responsibility To Be Aware Of Dates & Events
It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of all studio activities, such as viewing days, replacement classes, and dates the studio is open or closed, sent via email. Please ensure that you provide your most convenient email address. Our system notifies us of bounce-backs and successfully sent emails.
Care of Students
The studio is not responsible for providing before or after-class care for students. All primary-aged students must be escorted to the studio door and should not be left for long periods before or after class. Please do not allow your children to wait outside on the pavement or run around in the car park. Prox cards only work 15 minutes before the individual’s scheduled lesson time.
Choreography
Choreography for classes, performances, and competitions remains the artistic and intellectual property of Dancefit Studios teachers and/or the syllabus providers. Choreography must not be copied or used without the prior permission of Dancefit Studios choreographers.
Students who leave the studio are not permitted to perform choreography developed specifically for them by Dancefit Studios teachers as a competition solo or as part of a team/group without prior permission.
Taking Classes At Other Studios
Dancefit Studios is a privately owned dance school. To maintain consistency and for scheduling reasons, classes at other schools must be declared to avoid any conflict of interest. Students who have a prior accepted arrangement to dance at two studios may be able to continue this, provided the Studio Director feels it is in the best interests of all parties.
Photo Release
Enrolment at Dancefit Studios Ltd grants permission for the use of photography and video of students for teacher training purposes or for promotional materials created by the studio. Please inform us if you would prefer your dancer not to be featured.
Behaviour
Students and visitors must demonstrate respectful behaviour and attitude in all studio spaces, as it is a place where etiquette and discipline are essential for creating a positive learning environment. Running in the studio is not permitted, and students should refrain from touching any class equipment without the teacher's permission. It is important that all students respect the space, equipment, and their peers, fostering an atmosphere of focus and professionalism.
